Cannot add Youtube video

  I checked the FAQ and it looks very straightforward. What happens is the URL is inserted in my post, but nothing is visible on viewing it. Is that becasue I need to puchase an upgrade?

  How are you inserting the URL? Are you using the shortcode? What is the URL of your blog, starting with http?

  If you have a wordpress.com blog, you won’t need an upgrade.

  I want to get rid of the vopod widget and post selected video in select posts.

  Are you sure you’re pasting the right code? It should work.

  Also, consider linking your name to your blog to your name. Go to Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile and fill in the “website” box.

  Doh, sorry. That is the faq I followed. The blog is http://legalramblings.wordpress.com/
  and it wasn’t linked properly, but should be now.
  The post I have tried to insert video into is http://legalramblings.wordpress.com/2008/10/27/palins-good-buddy-alaska-senator-ted-stevens-guilty-on-all-counts/

  How are you trying to insert the video? Are you using the shortcode [youtube=URL]? If so, what is the URL of the Youtube video that you are trying to insert?

  One of the videos is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YptTFDsktVQ

  I copy the address from the window for Youtube and paste it in the url window on the lower half of the wordpress “Choose File” page.

  When I click “inssert post” this appears in the post: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YptTFDsktVQ]

  I figured out my lame mistake. Hitting view post but not first saving the vide insert. It works fine.
