Cannot alter sharing buttons – site is disconnected but also not

    I cannot change the sharing buttons used on my site. The message I receive is ‘Adding sharing buttons needs the Sharing Buttons module from Jetpack to be enabled.’ but it is showing as enabled in my WP Admin > Jetpack > Settings > Sharing.

    When I try to enable from wordpress.com, I receive the message ‘There was a problem saving your changes. Please try again.’

    I have also gone to the ‘Users’ section of the wordpress.com dashboard and see the error message ‘Jetpack can’t communicate with your site because your site isn’t connected.’ However, when I go to WP Admin > Jetpack > Dashboard > Connections it says ‘Your site is connected to WordPress.com.’

    Can you help me figure out what’s going on please?

    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Some additional info:

    I ran wp jetpack test-connection and that reports the site ISN’T connected, which conflicts with what WP Admin says.

    When I run wp jetpack module list it shows sharedaddy as Activated.

    If I try to re-activate with wp jetpack module activate sharedaddy I’m told “Success: Sharing has been activated.” yet wordpress.com admin still says it’s inactive.
