Cannot attach to post anymore

I used to upload photos to the media gallery, then “attach to post”. This has worked very nicely for past months. But this is not an option anymore … I can set gallery settings, but cannot “attach to post”. Only way to put photos now is one at a time as directly into post, which is time consuming and poorly formatted. Anybody know what has happened, and what I can do to add photos to blog? thanks!

When you upload pictures, they are usually attached to the post that you were working on when you uploaded them. When images are attached to a post, you can use the gallery feature to display them. But you don’t have to use a gallery to display the pictures.

Thanks for these relevent suggestions. It is indeed the gallery approach I have used for past 4 months. The problem is, the “Insert Gallery” button at bottom of gallery dialogue box does not display anymore, so I have no way of actually inserting the gallery. I can “Save Changes”, have the photos ordered, and and edit gallery settings, but cannot actually do the final step of “insert gallery”. Any ideas? thanks!

Have you tried force refreshing your browser, clearing the cache and cookies and logging in again? Have you tried using different browsers? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

You are absolutely right! I had not connected the fact that my problem started after I had switched to an older laptop I had, and it was running only Netscape. When I installed and loaded firefox, my “insert gallery” button reappeared!! You have ended many hours of intense frustration, and for that I offer a million THANKS!!
