By the way I am trying to do this on several blogs, I just selected thepencilmovie.wordpress.com because I had to pick one.
-
Hi there,
I’m able to select and save a different date and time format and the new settings are saved. Can you please clear your browser’s cache and try again?
-
Ok. However I have already tried it on two different computers. Does that make a difference?
-
-
Can you do this under https://wordpress.com/settings/general/thepencilmovie.wordpress.com instead?
-
No I can only change timezone from that screen. I’m trying to change the date and time format.
-
If you set your computer and browser to match the timezone displayed are you then able to edit it?
Let’s rule out the browser as a problem too.
Clear the cache: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
Go to https://browsehappy.com/ and make sure it’s the most recent version
-
I will be glad to try and set the proper timezone and date from my end. Please let me know what you want those settings to be.
-
Okay. I am trying to make it a custom time and date that is blank so as to eliminate date & time features on my sites. The time zone is fine, and matches my browser, computer, etc. I am updating Chrome right now. Here are the 2 sites I am trying to do it on:

That is not possible. The Custom timezone format cannot be saved completely blank.
If you don’t want date and time to be displayed on your site, you either need to use a theme that’s designed not to display those, or you need to use custom CSS to hide it from being displayed. But this is not something you can do from the timezone settings.
-
Well the custom format won’t work at all. I’ve seen it done blank before and it worked.
Am I able to do that without a paid plan? Also, I don’t know CSS. Do you know a CSS code that would hide it?
Also is this going to hide it from the URL or is that impossible with the free plan?

Am I able to do that without a paid plan?
Yes, you can do that if you choose a theme that allows you to change it. You can try the older themes without activating them by clicking on the three dots next to the theme’s name and choosing the option Try&Customize.
This will allow you to see what can be customized.
Do you know a CSS code that would hide it?
The code depends on the theme, we can help you with it, however, CSS can only be added with plans Premium and above.
Also is this going to hide it from the URL or is that impossible with the free plan?
I’m afraid that permalink structure for posts can be edited on plan Business:
-
I see. My blogs run the Rockfield and Plane themes respectively. Neither have any CSS Customization options that don’t tell you you need to upgrade to use them in the customizer.

Neither have any CSS Customization options that don’t tell you you need to upgrade to use them in the customizer.Correct, as staff-mckluskey mentioned, you’ll need to purchase either the Premium or Business Plan in order to utilize CSS customization for your site:
Right now, this is what you should be seeing:
But, with the two aforementioned plans, you will be able to add the snippet necessary to remove the date and time.
