Cannot change domain name

  I previously listed a particular domain name for my site (raceandstyle.wordpress.com), and thought that I deleted it so that it could be used by another person. However, this domain name appears to be occupied, even though I no longer am using it for my site. How can I make sure that this domain name is actually free for use elsewhere?

  raceandstyle.wordpress.com is no longer available.

  The authors have deleted this site.

  Gone is gone forever – just like the three warnings & email you agreed to that told you the site could never be used again if you deleted it

  You can’t. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled here and you can confirm by reading:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
