Cannot change initial theme

  Hello,
  I just registered a site on the free plan, and i cannot change it’s theme at all, none of the free themes activates… When i click activate – the customization site shows the original theme? Is this a bug?

  Your site currently displays the Twenty Seventeen theme. Which theme did you want to activate? Note that a placeholder image from a previous theme may still display with the replacement theme if you haven’t yet added your own image. You need to create some of your own content, posts/pages/images to have something to work with. Once you’ve done that then you can begin to set up a theme to look more like the demo.
