Cannot close mail account

  Hello, I’m trying to close my hotmail account but I get the following message:

  “Your email address is part of a managed domain, and so you need to contact the domain’s administrator to close your Microsoft account.”

  I contacted the domain’s administrator and here’s what they replied:
  “Your domain is currently pointing to third party name servers, so perhaps you need to contact your hosting provider and see if they can assist you.”

  So I’m contacting you, WordPress, in the hopes that you can help me solving the problem.

  I really need help with this. I have a working email address in Zoho, which ends in @befan.tv, and a non-working account in hotmail, also ending in @befan.tv, which I cannot close nor redirect anywhere (emails sent there get bounced) because apparently something has to be done with my WordPress settings.

  Hello there!

  I’m not sure if I’m understanding this correctly — You have two email addresses ending in befan.tv hosted by two different email providers, Zoho and Hotmail. Is this correct? If you’re trying to close a Hotmail account, that would have to be dealt with by Hotmail. You may try to get some help closing the account by posting a request here:

  In other words: Microsoft tells me to contact the domain’s administrator, the domain’s administrator tells me that I have to contact my hosting provider (WordPress). And WordPress tells me that this has to be dealt with by Microsoft… Great :-/

  I just posted a message on their forum but it may take weeks before I get a response from their staff :(

  Hey there,

  Yes, sorry about the confusion. Once you’ve chosen to host your emails away from WordPress.com, any issues you may have apart from the DNS/MX records has to be forwarded to the email provider.
