Cannot Comment on Blogs

When I try to log-in to comment on blogs, I always get an error message saying “invalid username”. If I try to get a new password, I get the error message “There is no user registered with that email address.” I’m using the same username, password, and e-mail address to post this.

Which blogs are you attempting to comment on? Where are you attempting to log in? WordPress.com?

That is not a WordPress.COM blog. Your WordPress.com ID will not be recognized there. Independent blogs sometimes insist that you register with THEM particularly before you can comment.

Well, it’s wordpress.ORG. And it’s the wordpress.ORG username etc. that I’ve been trying.

Whether wordpress.org or not doesn’t matter in this case. Apparently you must be registered as a user with that blog in order to comment. Being registered with wordpress.org is not the same as being registered with that blog.

In case you overlooked it, it says ‘You must be registered to post comments’ under every post and there is sign-up link for ‘Register’ under ‘Meta’ in the sidebar.

Well, then, how do I register with that blog? If you go where it says “log-in” or “register”, that’s where I have the problem, and that’s wordpress.org. (On the right side under “META”, or right below the comments where it says “You must be registered to post comments.”)

I just clicked on the register link and was taken to a registration page where I had to enter an email address and a password.
This is the link it took me to for registration: http://c4ss.org/wp-login.php?action=register . Try clicking on that link and see if you can get to that page.

Since that is not a wordpress.COM blog, we can’t help you any further than what we have. Contact the blog owner is my only other suggestion.
