Cannot comment on other blogs, telling me to log in
-
I am trying to comment on other blogs that use WordPress.com. In order for me to leave a comment I am forced to sign into my wordpress.com account which I set up ONLY to leave comments. However, when I try to leave a comment I get the pop up telling me to sign into my WordPress account (which I already am) and then after re signing in I get the same prompt again. I know I am using the right password- I even reset it to the same password. It is VERY frustrating and difficult to try to support these blogs. I now skip right over the WordPress.com blogs. Why do you guys make it difficult and what is the problem here?

It’s up to each blogger to select how they set up their discussion requirements for comments.
Other Comment Settings
Other comment settings has quite a few options, so lets explain them one at a time.
1. Comment author must fill out name and e-mail – When this setting is on, anyone leaving a comment will be forced to leave a name and a valid email address. If the setting is off, visitors can leave anonymous comments.
2. Users must be registered and logged in to comment – If this box is checked, only logged in WordPress.com users will be allowed to leave comments. If it is not checked, any visitor can leave a comment. … 6.

P.S. Allowing anonymous and/or non-registered commenters to submit comments results in a deluge of spam.

I am not questioning WHY the bloggers set up their comments that way. I am asking WHY WordPress.com tells me to sign into my account when I am already signed in, then rejects my password when I am already signed in thus not allowing me to ever leave a comment. I have brought this up to few bloggers and when they allow people to sign in using a name and an email address it is no problem. It is only a problem when WordPress makes you sign into an account you are already signed into and then tells you that you can’t sign in! Why does WORDPRESS do that?

Maybe it’s a browser related or connectivity related issue.

Hey there!
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. My guess is you may be having issues specific to your browser. Have you tried using a different browser such as Firefox or Opera? You can find links to download them from this page:
