Cannot connect Publicize to my Linkedin Page
-
My LinkedIn connection in Publicize suddenly stopped working. The Publish box told me to reconnect it. When I went to re-connect it, I keep getting the message, in red, “A confirmed email address is required to proceed.” But the email address I am using IS the email address I have used for LinkedIn for several years. And it is the correct password (I use it to get in and out of LinkedIn all the time). Given this, how can I get Publicize to publish to my LinkedIn page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have the same problem. I have successfully posted previously, but now I get the same error message: “A confirmed email address is required to proceed.” Using the same email as lat time this worked. WP http://www.marianboardley.com/blog/

@mboardley
That’s not a WordPress.COM hosted blog. It is a WordPress.ORG software install that we do not provide support for here at WordPress.COM, and our support docs do not apply to WordPress.ORG software installs.WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

Your site is a WordPress.COM blog. Please confirm your email address is correct at:
https://wordpress.com/settings/account/
and
http://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=grofiles-user-settings
http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/#issues-changing-your-email-addressThen disconnect the Publicize app completely and reconnect it please.

So, I don’t understand your message, but you seem to be saying I’m not supported here. However, the error page I get is coming from https://www.linkedin.com/uas/oauth/authorize/submit and references wordpress.com I will try at LinkedIn and see if they can help.

@mboardley
marianboardley.com is hosted by iPage
WHOIS
Name Servers:
ns1.fatcow.com
ns2.fatcow.com -
Now getting “An Error occurred during authorization, please try again later.” (Just adding for information to original poster)

@mboardley
The original poster has a WordPress.COM hosted blog and Staff will assist her when they work their way forward to this thread.Please understand that you need to post to the support forum at http://wordPress.ORG/support because your blog is a WordPress.ORG software install, with a domain name you purchased from GoDaddy, and it is being hosted by iPage on fatcow.com servers.

Thanks for the information! I don’t need a fix, but I thought the information (that this is not isolated to just one account) might be useful to the original poster. I look forward to seeing the solution, if any.

In the future if you have any JetPack issues on your WordPress.ORG install note what follows:
Some JetPack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/
Others are in the JetPack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
However, if you can’t find help at either one then you can file a JetPack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-serviceAlso note that every time we post into this thread we do the original poster a disservice because doing that moves the timestamps forward on this thread, and means it will take her longer to get Staff help here.

Hi there,
LinkedIn experienced some issues yesterday with their process for connecting accounts to LinkedIn, but they indicated that it should be fixed now. Can you please try connecting to LinkedIn again and let me know how it goes?
