cannot customize my blog site

  Hi, there. I cannot customize my blog site using my Solar theme, buttons don’t seem to respond – i.e. I have 13 categories (some parent and child) but only two are being displayed in the widget. Also, I am trying to use one parent category and three subcategories (or at least two), but when I press ‘apply’ it doesn’t take it and all the name and description are lost; Is it me, or is there a glitch ??

  One more question: I understood that my address has become [name].com, while I can see down here as it used to be before the purchase: [name]wordpress.com; there’s something I don’t understand. Thank you.

  Hi there,

  The Categories Widget organizes your posts by category in your blog’s sidebar. While you do have several categories created, you don’t have posts using most of those categories. Chaos and Order and Miscellaneous Musings are the only categories that have posts using them, so those are the only ones displayed

  To have all your categories included in that widget, you’ll need to add more posts and keep categorizing them.

  Alternatively, you can use the Custom Menu widget instead, and create a menu that uses all your Category items:

  Your readers will only ever see patternsofsouldevelopment.com, since you’ve registered that domain for your site.

  If someone happens to visit patternsofsouldevelopment.wordpress.com they’ll get redirect to patternsofsouldevelopment.com.

  But all sites on WordPress.com have their content hosted through the *.wordpress.com address. So in your settings and such, you’ll continue to see patternsofsouldevelopment.wordpress.com as the web address. And if for some reason you ever decide not to renew patternsofsouldevelopment.com, you can keep your site running on patternsofsouldevelopment.wordpress.com for free.
