Cannot delete old site

I just launched a new site and have been trying to delete an old site. I read the instructions about going to “settings” and deleting it from there – but there is no tab for “settings” on the toolbar for the old site. There is a “settings” tab in the WP Admin section, but it doesn’t reference deleting.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Go to this page, https://wordpress.com/stats/insights/ourniki.wordpress.com, and scroll down the menu on the left until you find the Settings icon. Then continue with the instructions in the Delete Site support page.

That’s the problem – there is NO settings icon on the left side of the page you reference. Only: Stats, Publish (Blog Posts), and Configure (Sharing, WP Admin). There is a “Settings” under WP Admin, but the page doesn’t include anything about deleting.

There is NO “Delete Site” option under the “Tools” section for this site in the WP Admin section. It only has headings/text for “Press This,” and “Install Press This” (bookmarklet, direct link). At the bottom of the Tools section entirely is another heading, “Post by Email.

Ah! It seems as though my husband – who originally set up that site – is the administrator and can delete the site (even though I was able to access it under “My Sites” when I logged in.)
