Cannot delete Search box on page.

Cannot delete Search box at top of page.
Tried putting text widgets on page, but it did not help.

That theme has the Search bar built in. I don’t believe there’s much you can do about it unless you’re very good with CSS editing and have the Custom Design upgrade.

Do you know if the Duster theme has a Search bar built in? Do you know if there is a way I can tell about that when looking at other themes?

Duster is almost identical to 2011: searchbox built in.
