Cannot delete site

The options to delete this site are not showing up. Please help me delete coveyforcouncil.wordpress.com – thanks!

Hi there!
Does your site has any of the following upgrades? If so, you will need to remove them first:
Premium or Business Plan
Custom Domain
Domain Mapping
Premium Theme
Any other upgradeThen you can follow the instructions here to delete your site:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/FYI – Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address!

Hi There,
Are you the owner of the site? If you are, then when you go to My Sites – Settings, then scroll to the bottom of the page on the right you will see an option to “Delete Site”. If you are another type of user other than the Owner it will not allow you to have the option to delete the site, the Owner would have to do it.

Thanks, but I am the owner of the site! The delete button is not showing up under settings. Navigating between pages I get the following two error messages, and most tabs won’t load (for instance no content will load under Pages or Blog, just these error messages in a pop up red bubble):
“There was an error retrieving purchases.”
“Warning: One or more transactions linked to this site were refunded due to a contested charge. This may have happened because of a chargeback by the credit card holder or a PayPal investigation. Each contested charge carries a fine. To resolve the issue and re-enable posting, please pay for the chargeback fine.”
I’ve tried paying the chargeback fine, even though I have no idea what it is or why it’s being assessed (this page has been, I thought, unpublished for about 3 years), but it it won’t process the payment, so I have NO idea what’s going on or how to fix this.

Hey Liz, it still isn’t “deleted” I just changed the domain to oldsitenotactive.wordpress.com in hopes that it would throw off being a top hit for google searches, but that’s not the case. I still need to delete oldsitenotactive.wordpress.com and since it’s under the same account, I’m encountering all the same issues. Haha, and I’ve pulled out enough of my hair at this point I hope you can help me fully delete this site once and for all!

Google doesn’t really work instantaneously. It takes time for things to fall from the index.
You’ll see that the site is deleted from WordPress.com when you try to go to coveyforcouncil.wordpress.com in your web browser.
As for Google, you’ll want to get in touch with them directly over the search results. Here’s how you do that: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals?pli=1
To clarify, the site is deleted from WordPress.com but it is lingering in Google’s index.

But I still need to delete oldsitenotactive.wordpress.com (which is still all the same content) and nothing has changed in that the option to delete the site is not present. How can I delete this site?
