Hi there, please give us a link to the site you are working on so we can take a look. Thanks.

here is the link for the site if you can help, thanks so much
as far as I can tell, the Morden theme is not active yet when I try to look at my homepage, for some reason, it stills shows up there??? Is there a particular way that I can look at my home page to see what it looks like prior to making it public? I have had this “issue” in the past so for example, the main photograph didn’t show up when I previewed it but it was there when the site went live.
thanks so much

@karwask on your home link I see Twenty Fourteen is active.
Do know though, our newer themes also have page templates that can be applied to several other themes. Is that what you’re seeing? The pages can be edited as you’d like to remove any elements you don’t want, or change content as needed.

Thanks, yes, I was able to delete most of the elements of the theme that had elements all over my home page and/but there is still one picture on there that I can’t seem to make go away no matter what I do!!! So, yes, I “edited” those element out but now how to get rid of the one last picture that sitting smack dab in the middle of my home page?
Also, is there anyway to delete the one theme, the default theme for WordPress, that is still active so I can just customize my own format for the blog?
any help is much appreciated, I am, just about tearing my hair out with frustration.
thanks

Do you mean the image of the dog? If so, this is a featured image of your homepage. You can remove it from there by editing the page.
The other image, of the man sitting in the pier, is a cover block for one of the example posts. If you switch to using the new Block editor, you’ll be able to remove it.
In general, I’d recommend having a look at this page to learn a little more about how our platform works:

On WordPress.com we allow you to create your site without the need to use custom code. You can activate different themes to change the site’s layout and design. It’s not possible to remove the theme as then, the site will simply not show up.
You can, however, activate any theme from the library and set it up. Each theme has instructions on how to set it up to look like the demo. For example, your current theme’s instructions can be found here:https://wordpress.com/theme/twentyfourteen/travelswithtuk.travel.blog
I hope that helps :)
