cannot delete widgets from side bar
-
Hi,
I would like to apply The Twenty Ten theme on one of my blogs and I do not want to have a side bar with ‘search’, ‘archives’ and ‘meta’ + ‘log out’ showing up on the right side of posts. In settings I removed all widgets from sidebars, but they are still showing up.I found a similar problem in forum, that was closed to comments 3 years ago

I do not understand how can I edit suggested index.php, where can I do that?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Brancolina,
The forum post you linked to is from the WordPress.org support forum — the advice you find in that forum won’t necessarily work here at WordPress.com.
For your blog here, you can remove those default widgets by adding a blank Text Widget to your blog’s sidebar. That blank text widget will replace the default widgets that the Twenty Ten theme adds when you don’t have any widgets of your own in the sidebar.
If you have any trouble with that, please give me a link to the blog you’re working on and I can take a closer look there. :)
