Cannot edit image dimensions any more
-
Every time WP ‘upgrades,’ I lose functionality.
It used to be that if I uploaded an image that was too large, I could edit it to change the dimensions. I don’t want to crop it, I want to make the image itself smaller. I used to have to go back to classic to do it but now I cannot even do that so I have to edit off line before uploading – which is a real pain.
Is there any way around this? -
Hi @scottqmarcus, if you preferred going to the wp-admin media options before, this may help:
https://wordpress.com/support/dashboard/You can set your menu so that every link that can point to the classic dashboard, will. Let me know if that gives you what you were looking for.
That said, if you’re uploading your images through a mobile app, I want to say there’s an option there to resize images as you upload them so they aren’t in full resolution. I may be wrong about the Android app since it’s been a while since I used it, but I’m positive the setting is there for iOS: tap your profile image, click app settings, and set a max upload size. Anything bigger than that will get resized. If you’re using Android and need us to double check for the setting there, let us know!

Hi there – You’re close. I’ll get you a direct link that should help get you to the “Account Settings” area where you can then change the setting.
Try here: https://wordpress.com/me/account
What you see there should match the image in the support doc referenced in supernovia’s reply above.
Once you make that change, give it about 5 minutes to kick in and that should be exactly what you are looking for.
