Cannot edit in VISUAL mode, this page only.

In VISUAL edit my cursor switches to a cross, selects copy blocks and won’t PERMIT editing

This does not happen on other pages I’m editing. URGENT since I have to send out for editorial review.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As a workaround I switched to TEXT copied all and dropped it into a NEW page, saved it under a different title and can now edit. I need to publish the original, edited, under its original page ID and most importantly need to know what happened. I edited that page last night, saved it and this morning every attempt to edit in VISUAL created that Cross Cursor, surround small boxes outining each paragraph and other weirdnesses. Any idea what’s going on?

Hi there, I’m sorry you’re having trouble with the Visual Editor.
I wasn’t able to replicate your problem in Firefox 17 on that post, so I’d like to ask you to try these steps:
1) Could you please try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
2) If the problem persists, could you please try another browser like Chrome to see if the issue is still there, so we can determine whether it’s a Firefox-specific issue.

Thanks, Kathryn… I appreciate your help but, like I said, my work-around consisted of setting up a new page, new Title. I would like to figure out what happened and maybe after we publish January 15 I’ll go back and try your debug routines. For now though we’re on deadline and there are stories to edit, notices to get out etc.
