Cannot edit user roles

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve invited several users to my blog. I attempted to give them different security based what access I want them to have with the blog. I have the blog completely private, and I have to approve new users. The new users have been approved, but i don’t see them under the user’s option on the admin side of my page. I can see where they’ve been invited, but I cannot change their security. I am the only admin on the acct. HELP! :)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m having exactly the same problem. Does anyone out there know the answer?

Volunteers in the forum can’t really assist with private blogs, since we can’t see what’s going on, but I’ll flag this for staff attention.

It looks like you invited multiple users with the Viewer role and they’ve accepted.

To grant them access as a contributor, author, editor, or administrator, you’ll need to go through the Invite process for those users again, but choosing that role.

Viewers just get put into a different system, so they can’t be easily changed to the other roles. But once a user is set as a contributor/author/editor/administrator, an admin user can change the user role as many times as needed.

For which site are you experiencing a user issue?
