Cannot embed a Mixcloud file to my WordPress site
-
I am trying to embed some Mixcloud files to my WordPress posts. When I copy the Mixcloud share link into my post though, it won´t appear there if its published (I just get a blank space). The link I´m trying to copy is [mixcloud https://www.mixcloud.com/michalina-kowol2/café-colombiano-en-alemania/ width=100% height=120 hide_cover=1 light=1 hide_artwork=1]
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The code looks right, but from what I see on https://www.mixcloud.com/michalina-kowol2/caf%C3%A9-colombiano-en-alemania/, the show seems to be deleted. It shows a 404 error.
That might be the reason why you are not able to embed this shortcode.

Thank you strikebuys for your quick reply. I have tried uploading the audio again to my mixcloud account and this time it appears there. https://www.mixcloud.com/michalina-kowol2/ But still when I copy the link to the embed player to my wp page ([mixcloud https://www.mixcloud.com/michalina-kowol2/café-colombiano-en-alemania/ width=100% height=120 hide_cover=1 light=1]), it just appears as a blank page

Hi!
Thanks for sharing this code.
[mixcloud https://www.mixcloud.com/michalina-kowol2/café-colombiano-en-alemania/ width=100% height=60 hide_cover=1 mini=1 light=1 hide_artwork=1 autoplay=1]I tried it on one of my sites and from what I notice, this is likely happening because of the character é. I am not very sure if this is an issue at the WordPress.com-end or at the Mixcloud end, but I encourage you to eliminate usage of this character and see if it helps.
I also tried a bunch of different other Mixcloud audio embeds, and everything worked just fine.
I am also tagging the post with “modlook” for the WordPress.com staff’s attention, as this could be a WordPress.com-level issue – in the parsing of shortcode.

Hi michalinakowol,
I visited the Mixcloud URL included in the shortcode but I’m seeing a ‘Show Deleted’ message:
There are also no uploads listed in your Mixcloud account. Is there another track you would like to embed?
@strikebuys — thanks for your help with testing :)

Hi @gemmacevans, thanks for your help! Indeed I tried uploading the audio file to mixcloud again avoiding the é as @strikebuys suggested and it let me embed the widget to my wp page! But… just a couple of minutes later my file dissappeared from mixcloud. I tried uploading it again and again, after five minutes or so, it was gone. So it definitely looks like mixcloud is having some problems too right now… Thank you for taking a look into that!

Oh! I’m happy to take another look once you’ve been able to upload the file to Mixcloud, hopefully they’ll be able to get that sorted out soon.

It’s my pleasure, Gemma! :)
michalinakowol, let us know how it goes through. Gemma should mostly follow up on your questions now, but I will be happy to test alongside too.
