Cannot export blog

Hi, When I try to “export” my blog in Internet Explorer, I keep getting “this webpage cannot display” page. It gives the following reasons: Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.When I tried this export in Safari, I get a file that has 0 bites. Can you help? Thank you!

Your blog isn’t hosted here at WordPress.com but if you ask over on the WordPress.org forums you might find someone who is able to help you.

It was just hosted there this morning. I just signed up for DreamHost. Even before I did that, however, I could not export. Any ideas?

The “export” function does not work. It gives me the above error message. I have also attempted this in a Safari browser. There, I do get a downloaded file saved to my computer but it has 0 bytes.

There’s a difference between this forum for WordPress.com users and the one I linked to before, this support page should explain the differences. You need to use the .org forums instead, sorry I can’t do much more.

Sorry. At first I thought you were with WordPress.
Actually, I did not need to use the .org forum. This issue was a for a .com blog (and for the .com forum). The problem was, in case anyone runs into this issue in the future, is that my blog was too large. You had to export it in sections. FYI for the next person who gets error messages on exporting….

It was confusing. The site is a domain name that I had purchased, but it was still hosted on wordpress.com!
