Cannot export XML

Hi Everyone, I need some help here.
I need to export my WP site as XML, but the export process took so long and ends up with error. I’ve more than 1500 posts, and it’s too bad if I export one by one. Please help me to export my WP.

Are there any errors you see during export? Could you please let us know more on the error. What exactly does the error say? Have you tried exporting your posts in a batches ( say all articles from 2014)? The export might be taking time and hence the request is getting time out. Try exporting in batches and see if it helps.Hope you are following all the instructions from here.

Yes I have tried it, but no images, terms, comments, etc was exported. I want to export all content including images, comments, and everything. I’ve selected all content on export page, it’s took so long and ends up with this error:

Looks like you have a lot of content that the browser is most likely timing out.
I would like to keep you informed that media files are not exported along with the XML file. The exported XML file has links to the images/videos. The actual images will be imported using the links in the file, when you import the file into the self hosted WordPress site. support documentation explain it very clearly.. This will contain all of your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, terms, navigation menus and custom posts.
If you have got an export file without the images, but with the all the other content, then you are good to go. You just have to import the file into a self hosted WordPress installation and all the images automatically download from the WordPress.com site. If you weren’t able to download any file, I would suggest you try the export again, probably in a different browser.
Let us know how it goes.

I would also suggest you do a local installation of WordPress and try the import and see how it goes before actually importing into your self hosted site.

I’ve tried it on Mozilla and Internet Explorer, and still can’t download All Contents, perhaps my posts is too many?

Yes, thanks for suggesting me run locally, it’s help for trying. But I still can’t download the XML file.

May be just that there is some error or your file is too big. Will tag this thread for a staff to look into. Let’s wait for them get back.

Our current exporter runs into some trouble when there’s a lot of content on the site (for example, many thousands of posts or comments). Our team is working on a new exporter that will resolve that issue, and once that’s ready we will make it available and you’ll be able to export your site that way. :)
