cannot find 2 day grace to cancel
-
I bought a domain .com and blog and some other extras this morning. I thought I would be able to have a blog that was isolated for social (legal but very contraversial) and a domain where I could build my own website. What I got was neither, no isolated blog and a .com that appears I have to buy or subscribe to your store of website builds therefore I must request a refund immediately.
I see no direct customer support here from “WordPress” staff. just forums where timely replies are unlikely at best… Is this on purpose inorder to make it impossible to cancel within the 2 days grace? I will have to call in a complaint to my credit card company if this proves to be the case.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your bundle included a domain registration.
If you’d like, I can cancel and refund the rest of the bundle for $73.
As for the domain, if we cancel the domain, it can take up to several weeks, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again once canceled.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it.
Instead, you can move the domain another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.
Of course, I can cancel and refund the whole thing for $99 if you don’t mind losing thenulldragon.com.

Hi Macmanx,
Thank you for your patient reply.
Please let me explain what I was hoping for:
I was hoping to get a SEPERATE blog site with a seperate name hosted by WordPress, com and a SEPERATE Domain website. I was believing the Domain would be used as a website. I was thinking that a “Blog” was like “Facebook” or “Twitter” and had nothing to do with getting a Domain as sites do not require a Domain. I did not want my website to be my blog site! I want to build my own website using my own software/art/etc.
Now, was I thinking incorrectly about what services were offered in that package? If you notice on my original post you replied too, at the bottom of the post, a line was added, not by me, that says “The blog I need help with is thenulldragon.com” Shouldn’t that statement use what I thought was my blog site of “thenulldragon.wordpress.com” ?
I would appreciate some clarification :) IF I can get what I was hoping for, as stated above, then I will be happy to continue, if not then I must ask for a full refund with my apologies for being a “Double-Dumb-A** ” As Captain Kirk would say… LOL thanks and I regret that I have been such a pain.

Ok, WordPress.com is a blogging service, not a hosting provider, and it sounds like you need a hosting provider if you want to build your own site with your own software, etc.
Basically, you can’t do that here, but you can move the domain another hosting provider, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.
Considering that you won’t be able to build what you’re envisioning here, I’d recommend at least getting a refund for the bundle. I wouldn’t recommend canceling and refunding the domain as we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to re-register it later.

Strangely, this may have worked out in an unusual way. You say my “bundle” included the “Domain registration” plus the blog service. So if I am thinking correctly I can simply move my Domain using your provided tools to a “hosting provider” and be able to do with it there the way I was wishing.
Also, I will have a blog site here with you folks as a blogging service.
Now can I rename my Blog to a different name other than “thenulldragon” ?
If I can then it looks like my ignorance of the fact that you did not act as a hosting provider really did get mostly what I wanted but in a very “circuitous” way!!!
So if all is correct and we do this, does this affect the bundle price if I move my Domain? If it does not then I think being able to rename my blog to keep it separate from my domain name is satisfactory and I wish to stay with you.
Thank you so much for you time and consideration!!
Dave
PS. Do you folks have any suggestions on hosting providers that are in the same league as yourselves as far as support, overall attitude and site quality? I would appreciate it if you are able to advise on that matter. -
Wait!!!! Now I am really confused you say wordpress is a blog service yet I just did a google search and found that wordpress.org offers this service this is the same company as wordpress.com isn’t it??
I’m messed up again! LOL

That is correct.

Yes, you can change the title via Settings -> General in the Dashboard.
So if all is correct and we do this, does this affect the bundle price if I move my Domain?
If you move your domain to another hosting provider, I can refund the bundle minus the domain for a total of $73.

We have some recommendations at http://get.wp.com/hosting/

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.

with you. I just want to move my domain,
Since I am in effect keeping what you sold me but just moving the Domain. I thought the rest of the bundle had to do with extra features for the blog which I do admit seemed pricey so maybe $73 must have been features for the domain… In any case If you letting me keep my blog here with you and you are allowing me to move my domain some where else and still give me a refund I am not only amazed but delighted… Thank you!
you have been so professional and patient!! kudos to you sir!I think I’ll take your recommendation which looks like it could be wordpress.org which is cool

Hi Macmanx
Sorry, for some odd reason the text editor chopped part of the first few sentances.
it should have read; “I wish to keep my blog” -
I have canceled and refunded your bundle minus domain as requested.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!
