Cannot find an admin area OR plug in page

    I want to upload some SWF files to my blog and have downloaded the software to my laptop in order to install the plug in to allow me to upload the SWF file; however I cannot find anywhere on my wordpress page where the wp admin area or the plug in page is in order to select the plug in. Also, when I type in the URL to my browser to find these pages it says they do not exist.

    I’ve looked at many forums but do not really understand what I have to do to make these pages available.

    Does anyone know what is wrong or how to upload SWF files another way?

    Good evening,

    The reason that you are struggling to find the plug-in page is because one does not exist on WordPress.com. Many plug-in features are already built-in to WordPress.com’s stream-lined technology; for a full list, please click here. In the name of simplicity, WordPress.com does not allow users to install their own plug-ins. You would need to self-host your website in order to install your own plug-ins.

    As far as SWF files go, I believe those files to be Flash files, correct? If so, per this help document, Flash and all other embeds are not allowed in WordPress.com posts, pages, or text widgets. For security reasons, we remove the tags needed for these to work. Your intentions may be innocent, but someone somewhere might try to use such embeds to damage the site, affecting all of our users.

    SWF files are not accepted on WordPress.com. You can refer to this support page below for a list of accepted file types.

    In addition, you also mentioned a plugin page, please do keep in mind that this is WordPress.com support forum and with WordPress.com, it does not allow installation of plugins. You can learn differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org by going to this support page.
