Cannot find blogname.wordpress.com

I am trying to log on to ellecarroll.wordpress.com, so that I can register the domain name ellecarroll.com. (It was previously registered by me and accidentally let lapse.) However, I get the error msg “Firefox can’t find the server at http://www.ellecarroll.com.”
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’d be happy to take a look at this for you, but I do not see ellecarroll.wordpress.com listed as one of your sites under larryeugenecarroll.
If you did mean ellecarroll, if you are logged in under the WordPress.com user account that owns that site, you can access the Dashboard here: https://ellecarroll.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

That corrected the problem. Thanks for the fast reply. You may wish to close this topic.

One problem still remains. I can edit posts and pages, but when I try to “view post” or “view page” the permalink is still set to blog.com. And the browser cannot find that. I need to discover how to reset the permalink to blog.wordpress.com.

You can update your primary blog address to point to your WordPress.com site, rather than a custom domain, here:

I tried that. It works. Thanks1
I also found that I can do the update by the slightly longer route of going to Dashboard->Store->My Domains.
Now View Page and View Post work as expected. I can now go back to renovating this site and making it public again. Many thanks!
