Cannot find my own blog when searching

    Hi, I’m new to wordpress (and blogging in general). I’ve created a wordpress.com blog “The Seven Youngsters” and written a small post – as a test. But when I try searching for it through wordpress.com (and google) my blog is not found. I’ve tried to look through the forum, but I haven’t found other people with similar problem. Sure it’s very simple, but..well as I said, this is all new to me. Can anyone give me a hint as to what I do wrong?

    Your blog is very new. It can take Google a few weeks to find you. You can give them a ping here:

    http://blogsearch.google.com/ping

    When you enter your blog’s address, they want you to leave off the “http://” part. Then be patient. They’ll get around to it.

    It takes a while for Google to pick up our blog and index it. Keep writing posts and it will happen. It used to take 6-8 weeks, but typically that is far quicker now with many finding their blogs after only a week or two.

    The global tags pages have a delay on them and it may be a week or two before your blog shows up there. This FAQ has some good information on the tags pages: http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/07/15/my-post-doesnt-show-up-in-the-tag-list-what-gives/
