Cannot find the directories after install

    Hello,
    I’m a complete beginner to blogging, and I have this issue I cannot get around.
    I installed wordpress on my PC using Microsoft web install, and I gave this address as the address of my server or site, when asked: wordsoftheword.wordpress.com

    My problem is, I cannot find the wp-content, or root directories or anything at all. All I can see now is the wp-admin bar in my explorer when i use: wordsoftheword.wordpress.comwp-admin.

    How can I access the contents folder, php files, etc? Do I need to install in another way?

    Please help, sorry if this question has been asked before, I searched around but could not find it.

    I installed wordpress on my PC using Microsoft web install,

    On WordPress.com, there is nothing to install anywhere, so it seems you are talking about the standalone WP software. For better understanding: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you indeed need help with a standalone install of the WP software online or on your computer (localhost), please head over to http://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username over there, you’ll need to register one.

    Thanks a lot! I understand now!

    The problem arose when I wanted some extra features ( sharing on facebook wasn’t working as much as I liked – thumbnails weren’t showing properly, etc )

    anyways, thanks again! This solved my confusion!
