Cannot follow back any blogs or websites, some 3 months already, always error me

Almost every day I have new follower either on my website or on my blog. Website is inesepogagallery.com and my blog is https://inesepogalifeschool.com/
From whatever I am trying to follow somebody back, I never can. I do not follow lots of people in one day or similar, I do not even post every day. I noticed this a few months ago. Therefore, I’m starting to feel that people do not follow me as they used to because apparently I haven’t followed back anybody for who knows how long (6 months? year?). I read that that was because somebody follows very many sites a day, that’s absolutely not the case. I have lost numerous new followers because of this. I am really upset about this issue. It appears again and again. I would appreciate this is fixed because I cannot follow back nobody.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey inesepogagallery,

As I can see, you have a paid plan, you can directly contact the staff and a Happiness Engineer will solve your problem.

  • Hi there,

Following was disabled on your account on October last year after you repeatedly hit our blocks to prevent rapid-bulk following of sites in a short period of time.

After reviewing your account we’ve re-enabled follows, but please note that should you start hitting those limits again follows will be disabled again. The Following feature on WordPress.com is intended to let you follow a reasonable number of sites that you want to read in the WordPress.com Reader. It is not a way to thank people for following or to get them to follow you by “follow-back”s.

    @ravichahar

There is no possible way you can know whether or not a user has a paid plan, and the OP in this thread in fact does not have one. Please don’t make assumptions about account info that is not visible anywhere to you.

Also please don’t ask people who’ve already posted here on a WordPress.com issue to go somewhere else for help. If you believe an issue requires staff help, add the “modlook” tag to the thread as explained in our volunteers guide.

Thanks! However, I have never ever exceeded any levels. I simply like some posts of those people who have liked mine. I also have 1 website and 1 blog, that is 2 together and they have different followers because one is about art and the other is about health and lifestyle. I also was very sick last year October-December. I’m not aware what these limits are, but if 10 people follow my blog after I have published a new post and I like they writing or poetry, why cannot I follow them back? What exactly is such a limit?
I sometimes do not look at the blog or website for weeks. Quite honestly, I do not get this how could I possibly gotten into this.
Maybe it happened when my former followers from the blog before I moved it to the website appeared? I had to re-follow and undo a lot of things.
I certainly never tried to be unreasonable. It would be nice to know how many people can I follow from the website and how many from the blog? It is WordPress which makes it one account, although, these are 2 different things.
    Thank you for your help!
I hope I find somewhere the number which makes it look obsessive or unreasonable not to exceed it which I doubt I ever did.
    Thanks!

I based my answer on your account logs which show you had. You don’t receive any notification when this happens, so you wouldn’t know that it did.

I’m not aware what these limits are, but if 10 people follow my blog after I have published a new post and I like they writing or poetry, why cannot I follow them back? What exactly is such a limit?

Because that is not what the following feature is for. As I said above, Following exists to allow you to follow a reasonable number of sites you want to read in the WordPress.com Reader. If you are following people you have no intention to read, you’re not using the feature for the purpose it was designed for. This is also a tactic commonly employed by spammers to try and drive traffic back to their own sites. So we place limits on following to prevent those spammers from abusing our systems in this way.

It would be nice to know how many people can I follow from the website and how many from the blog?

There is no limit to the number of sites you can follow, though at a certain point the Reader will simply stop working if you’re following too many sites, which is another reason we check for bulk-following behaviour.

But the limit here is on following a large number of sites in a short period of time. And I cannot give you the number, as that will completely defeat the purpose of this check as a spam-prevention measure.

Thanks! Believe following back is about interaction.
In arts, writing, health issues, etc. which is exactly what I’m writing about, I am interested to see what others paint or write, too.
I believe, I know why this happens. I am probably supposed to review everything in the course of the entire day and possibly do so every day. The reality is that when I get my huge medical writing jobs or when I am completely sick after some surgery or procedure, I cannot look at any of my blogs for a week, sometimes 2 or even 3 weeks. During this time, the e-mail notifications accumulate in some very large number. So, whenever, I get time, I would go through all notifications, respond to comments, check out the other sites, respond to comments and also follow back. I have 2 sites on 1 WordPress account because that is how it is. I am paying quite a lot of money for the website, and just a little bit for the blog. However, this doubles the comments, new followers and everything else.
I would imagine the system to detect any behavior is automatic and it obviously does not give anything whether I have 1 site or 5 sites on one account. So, that might be the reason: reviewing everything here and there and doing it sometimes once a month.
How obsessive of a causing abnormal follower numbers can I be if it even took me more than a half year to notice that I cannot follow anybody?
Well, the drawback of any automated system is that it does not recognize the distinction, and it puts everything in the same pile whether one reviews their followers once in a month or whether somebody follows 100 other sites without even reading them in 10 minutes. There is a big difference..
I am now afraid to follow anybody. I was just thinking that puts one more blogging pressure on me.
Thank you for your help and taking your time to explain this issue!
