Cannot get EEP code for domain; my site does not show up in Domain Manager

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I am trying to get the Authorization code/EEP for my domain, kalisimone.com so that I can transfer it to GoDaddy. When I login to the wp-admin page and then click on My Site, it says that I do not have any WordPress sites. I thought maybe I was hacked and tried to follow instructions to create a new user here: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/locked-out-of-wordpress-admin/ but I don’t even know where my cPanel is. The domain was purchased on WordPress.com several years ago and I chose WP’s free hosting option, so when I checked whois it’s being hosted with Wild West Domains LLC, but the nameservers are still wordpress.com.

Please help me! Thank you in advance.

  • Hi there,

wpbeginner tutorials only apply to self-hosted sites using the WordPress.ORG software. They don’t apply to WordPress.com at all. The WordPress.com instructions for transferring a domain can be found here:

Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

That said, your account is not the owner of kalisimone.com, so you won’t be able to transfer this domain. That domain belongs to the username kalisimone, so you will need to log out of this account and log in as that username before you’ll be able to follow the domain transfer instructions.
