cannot get into an existing word.com blog and no one will help me!
-
I created https://jeaninebuben.wordpress.com years ago! Two weeks ago I forgot my password and tried to reset it. Your group told me twice that they did not host my site and I could not get help or upgrade the site. There is no way to log in, no way to change password, and no way to take down the well-created blog if you cannot help me get into it. I accidentally started a second site called https://jeaninelynn.wordpress.com/ thinking I was in my original site. My issue: I want to get into the original blog site and upgrade it. Why is there no support service and why have I been told twice in the discussion group that you do not host my site and you cannot help me? I still need help! Surely there is someone at wordpress.com that can get me into https://jeaninebuben.wordpress.com/ and change the password and help me upgrade to a plan that includes customer service and real help. Please advise as I am totally stuck here with no one so far willing to help. Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
In this thread of yours (https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/https-www-jeaninetaxserv-com/) you asked us about bctincjeanine.com and remotebusinesssolutionsinc.org which are not and never were hosted by us.
jeaninebuben.wordpress.com is a different story. This site is indeed hosted by us, but it’s owned by a different account than then one you’re currently logged in (@remotebusinesssolutionsincorg).
My colleague pointed you to the Account Recovery guide where you can find all the information needed to access the account that owns that site.
Here’s the Account Recovery guide:

Dear fstat Staff:
Thank you for the responses of you and your colleague. I really appreciate your getting back to me. It is obvious to me however that I am not communicating clearly to any of you. I apologize for the confusion about my original question about the Jeaninebuben.wordpress.com login problem. I mis-stated the website address in my earliest question because I have an url that points to the WordPress account in question. I realized after the fact that I meant to use the wordpress.com link so that you could clearly see that I was asking about an existing wordpress.com account log-in. Trying to correct my referring to the url that pointed to the wordpress blogsite, I clearly confused you further. I will try to start over and clarify better with my points this time.
Firstly, I have consistently tried to explain to WordPress.com that as of two weeks ago I cannot log into my long-standing jeaninebuben.wordpress.com site. This is the ONLY account that I have been concerned about. I may not have been clear but this is what I tried to say twice, and I do know that you host only my wordpress.com blog site.
Secondly, I was trying to establish my identity as the owner and author of the wordpress account by showing that my business website was cross-referenced with the wordpress website. I never said nor meant to imply that I needed help with the websites not hosted with you. Please forget that I mentioned the marketing relationship for identity purposes.
Thirdly, I tried to explain that I have been through your instructions and tried them multiple times to re-claim my wordpress account and reset a new log-in and password.
Fourthly, what I keep explaining is that I have gone through all of the steps to re-claim my account and cannot get a reset option. Your software says to contact the administrator (me at (email visible only to moderators and staff)), which tells me nothing about what I should and can do at that point.
Fifthly, I asked or at least tried to ask if there was anyone at WordPress who was technical enough to help me get into the account to change my login and password, since the instructions and multiple attempts to follow them, did not work for me.
Sixthly, I fully realize that I may have done something inadvertently incorrect in establishing my recovery information, to get a contact administrator message instead of a reset password response.
I am not an IT professional so when your instructions have been gone through multiple times and I tried to the best of my ability to follow said instructions, then I am really stuck and do not know what to do. I apologize for trying to establish my identity as the valid author-owner with mentioning that the business sites were always linked to my current businesses. They were only meant to identify me as consistently Jeanine Buben or Jeanine Buben-Croy, the same person, who authored and owned jeaninebuben.wordpress.com for the past few years. I was obviously mistaken to try to explain that I was the same author-owner of the linked websites. Since I am not allowed to speak with anyone, I did not know what you needed or how to identify myself or how to ask for help with the software and instructions.
I had wondered if the fact that I started my WordPress blog when doing business as Business Consulting & Taxation, Inc, and my business now being Remote Business Solutions, Inc, is part of the reason why the instructions for retrieving my word press account and resetting the password are not working. I am perplexed by the message that there are no wordpress accounts in my name when I in fact authored and own two of them. I went through all of your steps and gave them my cell number and answered the questions that they asked for. Once confirmed each time I got the message to contact the account administrator at (email visible only to moderators and staff) (me) instead of a password reset. No one seems to be able to explain why this is happening and how I can override the issue with WordPress. I was just hoping to be able to upgrade and continue the site of jeaninebuben.wordpress.com and possibly get a customer service agent to help me.
Although I appreciate your constantly telling me that my business websites are irrelevant, this does not resolve my question as to what to do when my WordPress website login password request instructions fail me. It appears unusual that the software has no professional acting as host and leaves a discussion board for technical support. Most customer service requests at other companies go to a representative at a published telephone number who advises the client privately. Publishing my question and concern with you is what I was advised to do on your website. I accepted your referral to the discussion board but find it difficult to have to express in writing what could be clarified better by talking with a technical advisor on the phone.
If you or no one else at WordPress knows how to reclaim my account otherwise, then it appears I am forced to leave my blog site on the Internet without access until the end of time. I will accept this if you and your colleagues advise me that this is all that can be done. It is too exhausting, frustrating, and confusing to keep asking for technical help given that I tried your re-set instructions multiple times to no avail.
Thank you for your time. I am not interested in criticizing or promoting ill feelings in the discussion community. I just had hoped that since your WordPress software directed me to you for help, that someone was able to tell me if there was anything else possible to resolve my issue or not. I would even accept advisement on how to erase my blog site and close it without being able to re-set the login. I know that you love positive and productive discussions, so I am trying to keep comments on my topic at hand and not on other members of the community.
I wish you all health and safety during the pandemic, and the best going forward. Thank you for any help that you can further offer. I will not re-post or try to re-ask for help if you advise me that there is no solution beyond following the instructions to re-set the password multiple times.
Sincerely yours,
Jeanine Buben-Croy Buben

Hi Jeanine, it’s a bit easier to communicate if we take things one step at a time.
You mentioned you were told to check an email address for a password reset link. Do you have access to that email?
If so, please do log out, and reset the password using https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword and that email address.
We’ll take the next step after that.

Also, if you do not have access to the email address on file, please work with the email provider to regain access. This will be the first step I’d recommend.

Dear Support People at WordPress.com:
This is to thank the Support People at WordPress.com for your help with my recent crisis of not being able to log into my jeaninebuben.wordpress.com account and not being able to upgrade the two accounts owned.
Thanks to the patience and advisement of the Support People, I was able to find my log-in credentials and get into the jeaninebuben account. I then upgraded both my jeaninebuben Jeanine’s Tax Blog and jeaninelynn Jeanine’s Business Blog to premium service level. The frustration and struggle to get to this point was transmuted to a point of editing and publishing again.
Thanks again Support People at WordPress.com
Sincerely yours,
Jeanine Buben
