Cannot get my blog to switch from Private to Public; still listed as a Protected Blog

I’ve set up my first blog on WP, and excited about, and it’s been read by people already, but I can’t share it on Facebook, for example, because it’s still listing it as a ‘Protected Blog.’ I thought I had switched it from a private to public setting, but it’s still coming up as ‘Protected.’ Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Your blog was private initially and then you made it public. Facebook has not cleared their cache and that is the issue. It is not a wordpress.COM issue.

Facebook has some sort of crazy caching that we can’t control. It sounds like your blog was private when you shared it before. Now, when you attempt to share again, it’s just digging into its cache for the same description.
I know this sounds weird, but you’ll need to ask a friend who has never shared one of your posts before to share a post. This will kick Facebook’s cache back in gear. The only other know alternative is to wait for it to clear out on its own in about a week.
