Cannot get old account back

  Hey, I have the activation key to my old account, but wordpress.com keeps saying its invalid even though its the only form of verification i have, how can i get in contact with wordpress support.

  What is the account you’re trying to access? Either the username, or the URL of the WordPress.com site?

  username, it says my activation link is invalid when I go back to my email. So i cannot recover my username since it was taken at one point.
