Cannot get past domain name register

    Hi there,
    I own a domain name brick1-24.com. I have spent the last hour trying to find the hidden area on your website that would show the ‘Use a domain I own button’. I am reading your support page – en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/. I am getting to domains via your domains link under products on your home page. It looks quite different to what is illustrated on your support page. Am I in the wrong place and how can something that should be so simple be so massively complicated????
    I have tried registering with and without a plan but once I fill in my web address (brick1-24.com) it says it is taken and I can go no further which makes me very irritated. Please advise.

    I understand it can be confusing to find the right options sometimes.
    No worries, we are here to help.

    You must have a website on WordPress.com to which you want to add a domain.
    If you don’t have one already, you can follow this link to make a free website- https://wordpress.com/start/

    ->Please go to the Domains page to add a domain
    https://wordpress.com/domains/manage
    Select your site, and choose the Add Domain option.

    -> Click the Use a domain I own link next to “Already own a domain?”

    I tried to add the domain to a free website without a plan. If I click on the Add button after the steps in the video I will be required to pay for the plan if I don’t have one already.
