Cannot get rid of widgets

    I’m using the day dream theme, and I want to get rid of the Categories, Archives, and Meta widgets that are stuck on the bottom, but going into the Widgets option shows all three as “available”, not active. How do I get rid of them?

    What you are seeing is a theme-generated sample set that will show when you have not actually added any widgets. If you want them to go away completely, drag a text widget into the sidebar and leave the title and text fields empty. All three of the theme-generated widgets will then disappear.
