    Thanks megansoandso, I tried your suggestion and it worked for me.

    Does anybody know a way to get round this that will also import/export your comments?

    Actually, ignore that last comment. They weren’t showing at first when I exported from Blogger but now they are. Thanks.

    Hello,

    I have three blogs with Blogger and normally export the posts to my wordpress account. Today, after I successfully exported two of them, I had problems importing one…

    I received this message from google”

    The page you have requested cannot be displayed. Another site was requesting access to your Google Account, but sent a malformed request. Please contact the site that you were trying to use when you received this message to inform them of the error. A detailed error message follows:

    The site “http://wordpress.com” has not been registered.

    My wordpress blog is http://noteworthy4ever.wordpress.com (a protected blog)

    My blogger blog is at http://masterwordsmith-unplugged.blogspot.com

    Please help.

    Thanks a lot.

    Read megansoandso’s post a little ways back up the page: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cannot-import-from-blogger-1/page/2?replies=46#post-335822 . It has a temporary solution.

    I tried out the solution for megansoandso’s post – but unfortunately it didnt work as my .xml file is too big: 5.9MB.

    There is a “MemoryError” output.

    Any other solution for this?

    There is a limit on import file sizes, and I believe it is 2mb. What you will have to do is to break the XML file up into say three or 4 sections that are less than 2mb each. This forum post from a while back covers breaking up the file: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/import-more-than-3mb?replies=2

    Thanks thesacredpath for your link about breaking up the XML file. Unfortunately it talks about breaking up an already converted file, not about breaking up a blogger-exported XML file.

    I’m also getting the memory error in converting, and wordpress.com doesn’t offer any kind of “import an XML file” option. (hint hint)

    Any help on this please?

    Update: randomly cutting an XML file into smaller bits produces this error:

    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/base/python_lib/versions/1/google/appengine/ext/webapp/__init__.py", line 503, in __call__
    handler.post(*groups)
    File "/base/data/home/apps/blogger2wordpress/1.330699343967538652/blogger2wordpress.py", line 36, in post
    translator = b2wp.Blogger2Wordpress(input)
    File "/base/data/home/apps/blogger2wordpress/1.330699343967538652/b2wp.py", line 69, in __init__
    self.feed = atom.FeedFromString(self.doc)
    File "/base/data/home/apps/blogger2wordpress/1.330699343967538652/atom/__init__.py", line 1285, in FeedFromString
    return CreateClassFromXMLString(Feed, xml_string)
    File "/base/data/home/apps/blogger2wordpress/1.330699343967538652/atom/__init__.py", line 97, in CreateClassFromXMLString
    tree = ElementTree.fromstring(xml_string)
    File "<string>", line 86, in XML
    SyntaxError: no element found: line 301, column 22

    This might be because I needed to cut single lines from the original file at rather random points. One line in my file was 2.1M just for that single line.

    Any further suggestions for converting Blogger export XML file into WordPress imporable file is greatly appreciated. Thx!

    Same problem for me:
    I tried importing my blog from blogspot (blogger). It is a 4 y o blogg, I don’t want it lost in cyberspace.
    Trying export accorting to all instructions.
    Yet I got the following error message:
    The page you are trying to access cannot be shown. Another website demanded access to your google-account but sent an erroneous formulated question. Please contact the website you tried using when you got this message to alert them of this error. The website “http://wordpress.com” hasn’t been registered.”

    I tried the megansoandso trick, but got the following message.

    Error: Request Entity Too Large
    Your client issued a request that was too large.

    I’m NOT trying to import the whole blog content but just to update the most recent posting.

    Pls someone out there, how do I go about it.

    Thanking you in advance.
