Cannot import from Livejouranl

Hello WordPress team,
I’m getting an error when I’m trying to import from Livejournal.
‘Login to Livejournal failed. Check your username and password and try again’
I’m using the same username and password as before. I use the import feature regularly, so I have them remembered by the machine.
Just in case, I tried entering them by hands, making sure the credentials are right. I still got the same message.
Please advise. How can I import my entries from LJ to WordPress?Thanks,

Haha. I was just about to reply myself when @justjennifer beat me to it.
This appears to be a problem on LiveJournal’s end – their API which we use to connect to them give problems from time to time, and that’s out of our control. I’ve reported the issue to our developers in any event, just in case there’s something we can do from our end. I’ll update in the thread @justjennifer linked to if that’s the case, but otherwise please see the workaround I suggested at the bottom of that thread.

After a month of waiting, I got an answer from LiveJournal.

LiveJournal has no official tool for importing or exporting data to WordPress-based sites. Please contact authors of the tool you are using with this question. If they need help of LiveJournal developers to solve this issue, please ask them to file their own support request at http://www.livejournal.com/support/submit.

Did you look at the thread that @justjennifer linked to above? There is a workaround posted in that thread which is currently the only option to import your content from LJ to WordPress.com

For the record, our developers did submit a support request with LiveJournal and never received a response on the matter. It is also not only WordPress.com which is having problems with this. Several other services making use of LJ’s API are also unable to export content from their servers.
As I said before, this is something they need to fix, but the workaround in the other thread might work for you as it has for others.

Hopefully, LJ people will get to that ticket that your devs submitted eventually.
Yes, I checked the workaround suggested, but it didn’t work for me :( I’m not a very technical person.
