Cannot import from WordPress file

    I’m trying to import from a WordPress.org file. But when I click “Tools>Import>Wordpress” I just see this:

    “Import WordPress
    Processing…
    We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed”

    So I am trying to “contact support” as instructed. Leaving this public message appears to be my only option.

    Hi there,
    Not to worry. Sometimes the importer gets stuck and this thread has been tagged for Staff to reset it for you. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

    I’ve reset the importer for you. Please try the import again and let me know if you continue to have trouble.

    Hey I am also in need of an importer reset but for my self-hosted wordpress website. Does this also reset the media library files that were only 25% successfully transfered for a second import attempt? Do I need to manually configure my PTP settings in order to successfully transfer them or will resetting the importer fix this? The XML file I downloaded from my wordpress.com blog to import is only 1.07Mb. The blog I need help with is http://jedigraphy.cymru. Any assistance or information on this topic will be highly appreciated, thanks!

    Hi fullmetaldusk,

    I’m afraid we don’t have access to the backend of self hosted sites the way we do with sites hosted at WordPress.com. If you visit the forum for self-hosted sites at the link below they will be able to help you get unstuck.
