Cannot import XML from Tiscali blog to WordPress

  I’m trying to import a 36 MB xml file from tiscali blog and getting the following error message:
  “Importa WordPress
  Using LIBXML_COMPACT Using LIBXML_PARSEHUGE
  Si è verificato un errore.
  Questo non è un file WXR, numero di versione WXR mancante/non valido”.

  Then, I tried splitting the file in 4 parts (using WXR file splitter) but nothing changed (same error message).

  Could you please help me fix the issue?

  Hi there,
  the problem was partially solved: parts 2, 3 and 4 of the original xml file were succesfully imported (745 articles out of 995) while part 1 failed with the same error message (“Using LIBXML_COMPACT Using LIBXML_PARSEHUGE
  Si è verificato un errore.
  Questo non è un file WXR, numero di versione WXR mancante/non valido”).
