Cannot increase indent of Bullets

  • Unknown's avatar

    When I want to indent bullet points, the indent option no longer allows indenting (it’s grayed out). I’ve used this option for years. It recently stopped allowing indenting of bulleted lines.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there. If the option has stopped working it could be a bug so I’ll tag this for staff to follow up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting.

    Meanwhile you can achieve the desired effect by adding a bit of html to your list. Switch to the text editor and look for the “ul” tag. That tag signifies the start of your bulleted list. Add the code from the example below inside the brackets of that tag as shown here:

    <ul style="margin-left: 50px;">
    	<li>bullet 1</li>
    	<li>bullet 2</li>
    	<li>bullet 3</li>
    	<li>bullet 4</li>
    </ul>

    You can change the number value to increase or decrease your indent as required.

    If you have more than one list you need indented you must add the style information to the “ul”-tag of each list.

    Hi Donna,

    Thanks for the report! We’ve have similar reports of this and it has already been reported back to our developers. They were able to reproduce this and they are looking into a patch upstream.

    Until then, please use the workaround that @kokkieh has provided you in the Text Editor! Thank you @kokkieh!

    I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

    I hope it’s fixed soon. I need to reduce my workload, so I can focus on content. I use that feature a lot. However, I do appreciate having the workaround.

    Thanks.

  • Glad I could help :)
