Cannot insert media

some time yesterday I lost the ability to insert media into my blogs. When I am editing or creating a blog, I click on the “Insert Media” tab the window opens, however my pictures do not display and the window sits there until I get tired and close it.
If I go directly to Media and open the window as if I am going to upload more photos, the gallery opens immediately.
Today the WordPress dashboard said I needed to update Internet Explorer to version 10. I did that. Made no difference. Also have restarted several times. No difference.
