#mc_embed_signup{background:#fff; clear:left; font:14px Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; }
/* Add your own MailChimp form style overrides in your site stylesheet or in this style block.
We recommend moving this block and the preceding CSS link to the HEAD of your HTML file. */

Hi there!
If you’d like to create a MailChimp signup form you can add it to a text widget in your sidebar by using Wufoo or Jotform. You can find all the information you need and steps to follow on the MailChimp Support Page (and links to the Wufoo and Jotform support pages as well).
Hope this helps!

thank you but my problem is with the instructions at mailchimp for installing the form via the text widget. it says enter the code in text widget but it doesn’t install. the code sits there like words on my page.
i don’t want to buy third party things, just want the text widget free one to work.

The code that you provided will not operate on WordPress.com hosted sites, but it’s for self-hosted WordPress.org sites (WordPress.com sites have code restriction, no JavaScript, no form codes, etc. except for some code. In order to use MailChimp on your WordPress.com site you can use a MailChimp Subscriber Popup or create a regular signup form, by embedding a JotForm or Wufoo form with MailChimp integration, directly into your site. Please have a look at the page I posted above for all the info you need. Read also this staff response about it:

Hope is all clear!
