Cannot leave comments on other blogs???

    Yesterday, I was unable to leave comments on other blogs. Nothing happens.

    Is this a current bug in the system?

    By “nothing” I mean, that before it would automatically post or it would say “awaiting moderation.”

    Now, NOTHING. My comment disappears, and the page returns to what it looked like before — other people’s comments are there, and an empty comment box, and mine is missing.

    This happened on a blog I’ve never been to before, and at an associates blog, e.g., where we’ve commented on each other before.

    Obviously, other people are commenting w/o any problem.

    What’s the deal????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    You’re question mark key is sticking.

    Contact the blog owners and see if by chance your comments ended up being caught by their spam filters (Akismet or whatever). Sometimes when the spam filters are updated to counter new spam tactics, some legitimate commenters end up getting caught up in them by mistake. The spam filters learn, so if your comments were caught, have the bloggers despam you and within a day or two, things should be back to normal for you.

    If you are indeed being caught, and you don’t want to wait, contact Akismet directly and ask them to fix it for you.

    I CAN comment on my own blog — but then I’m just talking to myself (as usual?)

    Yeah, if Akismet is catching you, you can comment fine on your own blog while logged in. If you log out, typically you will not be able to comment either.

    If you want, go to http://opposablethumbz.wordpress.com/ and leave a comment and I’ll see if it goes into the spam queue.

    support contacted me, I did it at a test site, it WAS caught as spam. I’m contacting Akismet at

    I shoulda commented on an associate’s blog & ask them to check their spam queue — I didn’t think of that.

    So If i comment on ur site it won’t be a test — but if I do so now, it WILL be caught as spam, and I don’t even EAT spam.
