Cannot "like" other wordpress pages
-
Logged into both my wordpress.com account and my gravatar account, but I still cannot use the “LIKE” button on wordpress blog posts.
This includes posts of blogs I follow and do not follow.
I can comment using my gravatar.
When I try to “LIKE” a post, I quickly get a page that says about.blank and then quickly flashes to a wordpress.com verify url – but it is too fast for me to read.
Any ideas of what I’ve done wrong? And much thanks in advance for any and all help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you referring only to WordPress.COM hosted blogs? I’m asking because ours is an “in-house” like button for WordPress.COM hosted blogs, so if you are referring to blogs that are not hosted by WordPress.COM you will not be able to use the “like” buttons on them.
-
Yes, ma’am. They are WordPress blogs and I am accessing them through my reader and also through their url.

Are you aware that there are two flavors of WordPress. WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. Read this carefully http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
We need to know what the exact URLs are please.
-
Also let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/ -
I am using the same laptop I’ve always used to connect to the internet. A Toshiba that runs firefox 34.0.5, which is the most current version.
The blogs I am trying to like are the same blogs I’ve followed for years, and yes, I am aware of the difference between .com and .org.
I cannot like any of them when on their blog post page.
But, I CAN like them when in my reader. You know the part where you can click a star? Very strange! -
I’m glad you know the wordpress.com and wordpress.org differences because about 30% of those who post here some days don’t.
I cannot like any of them when on their blog post page. But, I CAN like them when in my reader.
That’s strange indeed so I tagged this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

Well, thank you for tagging this. I will continue to see if I have magically checked or unchecked some setting on another program that might be interfering with all this “like” I have to give :)
Thank you for your time. I tried to like your blog, but no luck there, either. It is very cool but unfortunately, as of now, I am limited to a verbal “LIKE”! Have a good evening.

Hi there,
I just took a look and I was able to like a post while using your account (I immediately unliked it, so that nobody thought you were going around “liking” our post about the new Twenty Fifteen theme!).
We occasionally see issues like this when people have installed or updated some sort of security on their browser or system. The “like” button uses a bit of javascript in order to run, and if you have your browser or antivirus set to block or require permission in order to load javascript, then it won’t load correctly. Since FF 34.0.5 also just came out there may have been an issue with your upgrade, you may want to check another browser to see if you can like posts on it.
