cannot load a 9.89mb pdf file to the media library

    Have other larger pdf files load to the site with no problems. No matter what I do this one will not load

    On contents page there is a pdf file, Meet the Mecograph semi automatic key.
    This file uploaded some time ago with no problems.
    I have updated information in that file and the new updated file will not load to media library. The size is 9.89mb, smaller than others on the site which have loaded ok. I don’t want to delete the original file until the new one is on my site.
    I have tried to upload to media library by both options – from computer and from URL and get the message -1 file could not be uploaded because the file type is not supported.
    All files on the site are pdf.

    Hi Ron,

    I don’t think the filesize is relevant. The file type is not supported error points to an error with the file itself.

    Can you tell me how you created that file? For example, in a PDF editor like Adobe, using a Print to PDF option in your browser/operating system’s print dialogue, using Save as PDF from a Word doc, etc?

    It’s possible that the file became encoded in a way that’s causing it to not pass the security checks we have in place for files uploaded to the library, so try to see if it works if you use a different method to create the file.

    The file was a .docx and saved as a pdf – same as the others.
    Just tried to upload again and received the message – 1 file could not be uploaded because an error occurred while uploading. Have also had this on several attempts previously. Two different reasons for not loading.
