cannot locate new settings to allow readers click and view images larger
-
Other threads indicated that I needed to go to manage>images to allow my images to be clicked on by my readers to view them larger. My settings area does not have this, all I have is:
Thumbnail size Width Height
Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions (normally thumbnails are proportional)
Medium size
Medium size Max Width Max Height
Large size
Large size Max Width Max HeightThose are my only options in settings.
When I am adding images from my computer I still do not have any options different than what I had in the old version of wordpress. Please help. My blog requires that people be able to see detailed views of my images.
Thanks

First, take a look at this sticky post, https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/new-dashboard-questions?replies=1 , as it answers many of the common questions people have about the new dashboard, your question included.
When inserting an image, before you insert the image into a post, you need to click the “file URL” button and then click the “insert into post” button. WordPress will remember that choice and you will not have to make it again.

I still can’t figure out a way to get my old images to pop up, but I have gone back and re-added them all again and I now see that button. I was looking for it in my already inserted images and I couldn’t find it.
I guess you have to start from scratch to get it right. -
With the post open in the post editor if you click on the image and then click on the “edit” button that appears in the upper left of the image you can click on the “link to image” button and then click on the “update” button and get the same results. Make sure and “save” the post after doing that.
