    log in.

    I deactivated a plug in rss feed to post. Then – boom Cannot log in.

    home/jeffreyaal/public_html/jeepingwithdogs.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/lib/class.core-rest-api-endpoints.php on line 57

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Does this have to do with the jetpack plugin? I am seeing a lot of people are having problems like this, me included. The funny thing is that they will tell you they don’t support jetpack yet they push for you to use it. Then they don’t offer any kind of help and refer you to jetpack support. Once I get this resolved I will never use this plugin again.

    IDK if it is JetPack Issue or what. What I do know is there is no way to log in, and I cannot find the work around.

    JetPack has always been a good plugin for me. First time it has given me any issues. But denying access seems to be a pretty big issue?

    I agree this has caused a very big inconvenience. Deleting the plugin doesn’t work, I followed everything from this page https://jetpack.com/support/security-features/#unblock and it doesn’t work either.

    I can access the file via control panel on my server. Here is the code, terminates at line 57. I cant find the “correct” code and, well, I am not a coder, so I don’t know if it is correct or not?

    self::$user_permissions_error_msg = esc_html__(
    			'You do not have the correct user permissions to perform this action.
    			Please contact your site admin if you think this is a mistake.',
    			'jetpack'
    		);

    		self::$stats_roles = array( 'administrator', 'editor', 'author')

    Then, no more lines. Again, odd that by disabling one plug in “WP-rss-aggregator” jet pack suffers a failure that precludes my log into to the dash board?

    Yeah I am not sure because again even deleting didn’t work I get this error when I try to login Your IP (xxx.xx.xxx) has been flagged for potential security violations. Find out more…
    The X is supposed to be my IP address but guess what its not my IP address. So I am not sure what is going on.

    Hi guys!

    This forum is for questions regarding WordPress.com accounts and websites. It appears the site you are seeking support for is self hosted and this forum does not handled questions for self hosted sites. I believe this is where the confusion is coming from.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different versions of WordPress, with different support forums. You may try posting your question to the WordPress.org support forums, where you can get assistance with a self hosted site.

    https://wordpress.org/support/

    If you aren’t registered, you will need to do so in order to use the forum.

    https://wordpress.org/support/register.php

    Difference between the two?

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    Also, this forum does not provide Jetpack support for sites linked to WordPress.com accounts with the Jetpack plugin. You would need to contact Jetpack. https://jetpack.me/support/

    You could also try here: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack

    If you need to reset your password for WordPress.org: http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password

    Hope this information is helpful.

    And this is what I was saying about their responses, they push this plugin you have to sign in with WordPress.com but yet they don’t help you with it. I went to all my sites that I can login to and have deactivated Jetpack, I will never use it again nor will I listen to WordPress when they try to get you to install certain plugins.

    @mariahpierson,

    Crazy enough I was directed here via JetPack. Thanks for the information, not really helpful other than to blow off users of JetPack unless they are hosted by JetPack / WordPress.com.

    Could have used that information before using JetPack that now won’t let me access my “self hosted” wordpress.

  • Unknown's avatar

    That’s strange.

    For sites on WordPress.com, Jetpack is included. You do not have the ability to install plugins on WordPress.com.

    For sites that are self hosted, there is the Jetpack plugin. With the plugin installed on your self hosted site, you get access to some of WordPress.com features.

    Please see here for more in depth explanation:
    https://jetpack.com/about/

    I know it can be a bit confusing with WordPress having the option of .org (self hosted) and .com (hosted only on WordPress.com).

    I do wish you the best of luck getting things squared away.

    Thanks for the best of luck. I understand it is not you.

    I also understand next time a tech person needs my help, in my field, I will refer them to my plug in .sorry. They may get the extension .sure. If they do not understand the subtle differences well, too bad.

    Again, I understand it is not you. But there is no doubt a better way.
