Cannot log in to website because of new url created

  Hi everyone,

  I am not a webmaster so the mistake might seem obvious but for me, it’s not…

  I wanted to change the URL of a website from https://www.maplacetobee.fr to https://www.mbeecoaching.fr

  I did so in the Settings page from the menu of the website (administration menu).

  I thought my client already bought the new domain (https://www.mbeecoaching.fr) but she did not…

  So, now I cannot log in into website as I used to.

  when I use the log in link https://www.maplacetobee.fr/oseuneviequitanime/

  + the ID and password, an error page appears instead of my account…

  The domain is not from WordPress but O2switch.

  How can I solve this issue? Should I buy the domain?

  Hi there!

  You’ve posted to the free support forums for websites hosted here at WordPress.com. Since your site is not hosted with us, we’re limited in what we can help with and advise. But I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.

  Changing your site URL name in your WordPress settings without first purchasing the new domain and changing the domain at your hosting provider will cause the error you’re seeing now. You should reach out to your host for help with fixing this. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you undo this problem. They can also help you update your domain if you still want to change that as well.

  Note that mbeecoaching.fr is not currently registered so you would need to purchase that domain first before configuring it at your hosting provider
