Cannot log into my admin page
-
Hi.
Every time I try to log into my site I cannot edit anything because I cannot log into my admin page. Every time I try to log in, I get an error message that says I have been redirected too many times. I have tried contacting my host site and they do not see anything wrong and I am very frustrated since this has been going on for quite some time.

I have the same problem. One of my wordpress websites is http://TheGlobalWarmingFraud.wordpress.com
It used to recognize me, but since I had my laptop repaired by the Geek Squad, I’m flummoxed. Please help. WordPress does not offer instructions for this blind alley. I don’t even know which of my email addresses I used to originate it years ago.
-
That site belongs to a different WordPress.com account, so make sure that you’re logged in under the correct account.

The URL http://TheGlobalWarmingFraud.wordpress.com is NOT an email address. It asks me to sign in using the owner’s email account. I never had to do this before. Now I do and after many years, I can’t recall the email account or its password and WordPress provides me no other option.
-
The username matches the site’s address, and you can use https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ for the password.
We cannot reveal any further information here.

I’m having a similar issue; my WordPress admin page won’t load at all.

WHY does WordPress make it so difficult? I can’t recall the email I used for my websites. This is insane.

@kelleybw, please check if clearing your browser cache and cookies make any difference:
If that doesn’t help, please open your own support ticket at https://wordpress.com/help/contact so we can take a look.
Thanks for letting us know :)
I can’t recall the email I used for my websites.
Your email address is the unique identifier of your account, and the only piece of information we asked you for when you created your account. If you don’t remember the login details you provided us when you created your account, please follow our account recovery process instead:
Once you’ve verified that you own the site via another method, we can tell you the email address and help you update it if needed. We cannot help with that in the public support forums, and we cannot tell you the email address without verification of ownership.
-
WordPress makes “Verification of ownership” impossible! I’m the owner. I don’t know any of those three requirements however.
-
We are unable to help with out proof of ownership as outlined on the account recovery form.
-
Your Account Recovery Form is insane! I do not know what any of those numbers or characters are, much less how to get them. Don’t you understand? Your protocol is ridiculous! Absurd!

Feel free to email
passwordhelp@wordpress.comBut unless you can provide proof of ownership we can’t grant access to the account. -
YOUR requirements for “proof of ownership” are ludicrous. Absurd. Ridiculous.
I’m the owner. I have files full of images I created and added to my WordPress.com websites. What does it take, an act of congress?WordPress.com management is absurdly rigid and inflexible.
-
We simply cannot take word of mouth as proof of ownership, that would be an incredible security hole.
Additionally, we cannot accept images from the site as proof of ownership, since they can simply be downloaded from the site.
We can only accept the proofs of ownership listed at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
-
HOW in the HE** am I supposed to give “proof of ownership” when you don’t provide a clue as to how to obtain such “proof”?
I originated my first website years ago. I can’t access the email associated with it and Hotmail won’t allow me to create that email. They send a link to the one I’m trying to create, which of course I can’t access. This is stupidity squared.

“We love positive and productive discussions, so please keep comments on the topics at hand and not on other members of the community.”
Your staff does not know how to do anything besides “provide proof of ownership” which proof is IMPOSSIBLE for me to provide. Nowhere do you give anyone instructions on how to obtain this “proof”. I haven’t a clue.
