Cannot log into old account

    I have an old account with an important website which i havent updated since we first made it, about 8-10 years ago. the site is up and running, but the login info does not work. this is crucial please help !

    I’m experiencing the same problem. When I try to log in to the website (sixtyspecial.wordpress.com) I get a white screen displaying the text ‘you need a higher level of permission’. But I never changed any permission levels and I’m the only one who has (or ‘had’) access to the site. But just like the original poster, it has been a while since the last time I made some changes.

    I have the same problem. I’ve created this website/blog and totaly forgot the username and password.
    I’m talking about notforsalebyif.com
    I need to restore the username and password.

    I could log in but it says that I have no site created…

    Can you help me?

    Hi folks, your easiest way of regaining access to a WordPress.com account is to reset the password. You’ll need access to the email address you used to register the site, then you can reset here:

    http://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

    If you don’t have access to that email address anymore, you can try contacting the email provider to regain access. Or, you can use one of these options to regain access:

    Hi SuperNovia,

    Thanks for your reply, but your solution doesn’t match the problem most of us are experiencing here. We can log in to said websites, but we either get ‘you need a higher level of permission’ or ‘start building your website’. But we already have websites up and running. We just want to get to the content and make changes.

    Please could you look into this again and come up with a different solution? Thanks for all the help so far.

    It’s just because you mentioned that you can login into the site. We can check what is happening if you mention your site URL in new thread :)
