Cannot log into stackoverflow.com using my wordpress URL

  Greetings, WordPress Support:

  I need your help.

  I have been using octopusgrabbus.wordpress.com as an openid to log into stackoverflow.com for about as long as I’ve had a wordpress account, about six years.

  I found myself, after not using one type of browser for a while that stackoverflow required me to log in. When I tried to log in, I got

  Redirects on POST requests that are to untrusted servers is not supported.

  Here is some information:

  I tried IE and Chrome as well and got the same error.

  I don’t have a custom URL.

  I have tried http://octopusgrabbus.wordpress.com as well as https://octopusgrabbus.wordpress.com

  I have tried Chrome and Firefox as well.

  I get this error, and I’ve seen a lot of posts about it, which is why I tried a bunch of things before posting a note.

  Any workarounds you can think of would be appreciated.

  I also tried another suggestion. That was to delete the OpenID URLs that I had defined in my account. Alas, I was asked for permission to use https://octopusgrabbus.wordpress.com, but got the same error.

  I’m also having an issue. When I try from stackoverflow, I get a redirect to a url with “Moved Permanently”[1], then a successful redirect to the main wordpress page[2].

  Previously there was a link to browse back to stackoverflow after login. Now there is no such link, and browsing back to stackoverflow shows no login.

  I wasn’t able to find any open-id information in my account-profile.

  This is the wordpress.COM support forum where we provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted blogs. That site is not hosted here and we do not provide support for it. You are posting to the wrong support forum.

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.
